The Charge of Light Brigade

This is the poem that i used to mention before..

Half a league,
half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;

Into the jaws of Death,

Courage is a hard thing to figure.

You can have courage based on a dumb idea... or a mistake.

But, you're not supposed to question adults, .. or your coach, .. or your teacher.

Maybe they know the best, but... maybe they don't.

It all depends on who you are, where you come from...

Didn't at least one of the six hundreds guys thinking about giving up and joining with the other side?

I mean, Valley of Death, .. that's pretty salty stuff.

That's why courage is tricky.

Should you always do what others tell you to do?

Sometimes,... you might not even know why you do something.

I mean,.. any fool can have courage..

but, honor... That's the real reason you either do something or you don't.

It's who you are,.. and maybe.. who you want to be.

If you die trying for something important, then you have both honor and courage,.. and that's pretty good..

I think that's what the writer was saying,

that you should hope for courage and try for honor.

and, maybe.. even pray that the people telling you what to do,

have some too...

From Me :

I quote this from The Blind Side movie. The Valley of Death is a poem that tells us about the death of 600 people because of the leader's fault. What amazed me is how he try to define courage, ... and also honor.

I often ask myself, Why i doing this? For what? For me? For somebody else?

Or, why i don't have any courage to do something? where is that courage? I need IT! NOW.

but, i realize.. when i found something really worth fighting for, for me, not for the others sake, i felt that i got the courage and also the honor. And that feeling still exists till now, maybe..will last forever.

Then, i see that all i things i do depends on me, who i am.

Maybe i'll have doubts.

Maybe one time, i will stop and tired.

But, who knows what will happen in future?

all i know is, ... it's all worthed to fight for.

Suddenly, i remembered about this article. I made this one a year ago. Enjoy!! ^.~

DooLilThings ( Do Little Things )

Teman – teman pasti bertanya-tanya kan? Apa sih DooLilThings??

DooLilThings merupakan singkatan dari Do Little Things yang artinya melakukan hal – hal kecil. Rubrik ini ingin mengajarkan kepada teman – teman semua, khususnya adik – adik yang manis =) untuk melakukan hal – hal kecil yang sebenarnya menghasilkan sesuatu yang besar.

Nah, apa hal kecil yang bisa kita lakukan mulai dari sekarang?

Tersenyumlah!

Wah.. Kenapa kita harus sering – sering tersenyum?? Hmm... ternyata banyak lho manfaat dari tersenyum.. Mau tau?? Ini dia..

1.

Miracle 1

Tersenyum ternyata dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan kita..

Lho?? Kok bisa?? Ternyata dengan tersenyum, tubuh merasa lebih santai sehingga sel – sel kekebalan tubuh kita dapat berfungsi dengan baik. Menurut penelitian, tersenyum dapat menurunkan tekanan darah kita. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan menggunakan alat pengukur tekanan darah (boleh dicoba nih... =p). Selain itu, dari penelitian juga, ketika kita tersenyum, tubuh kita melepaskan endorphin, zat pereda sakit, dan serotonin. Ketiga zat ini dapat membuat tubuh kita menjadi lebih baik.

Tersenyum dapat mempengaruhi kondisi psikologis kita juga lho..

Bagi teman – teman yang sedang lelah, capek, kesal, ataupun marah, tersenyumlah! Tersenyum terbukti dapat mengubah mood kita menjadi jauh lebih baik lho.. Hal ini didukung dengan penelitian bahwa tersenyum dapat melepas stress.. Dengan tersenyum, kita juga dapat merasa lebih percaya diri dan siap dengan segala tantangan. Ini dapat membuat kita menjadi lebih positif dalam menghadapi segala sesuatu. Nah, dengan semua sifat positif di atas, kita akan menjadi lebih menarik lho!! Buktinya adalah kamu sendiri, kamu senang kan jika berteman dengan teman yang selalu tersenyum dari pada teman yang selalu cemberut???

3. Miracle 3

Tersenyum bisa membuat kita semua awet muda!

Ternyata, ketika kita tersenyum, otot – otot wajah kita terangkat dan menjadikan wajah kita lebih segar lho!! Inilah rahasia awet muda! =)

4. Miracle 4

Tersenyum dapat menular!

Sebenarnya ini fungsi tersenyum yang paling penting. Ternyata senyum dapat menular! Jika kita tersenyum kepada orang lain, orang lain tentunya akan ikut tersenyum kepada kita. Nah, dengan begitu kita membagikan energi positif yang ada pada diri kita kepada orang lain. Dan kita juga memberikan manfaat – manfaat besar dari tersenyum di atas lho... Bayangkan saja jika satu orang tersenyum kepada 10 orang, dan 10 orang tadi juga tersenyum lagi kepada 10 orang lainnya, maka ada 100 orang yang tersenyum di dunia ini!! Luar biasa bukan??

Waw!! Tersenyum memang banyak mempunyai manfaat!! Hm.. Kira – kira kita bisa melakukannya atau tidak yah??

Jawabannya ada pada diri kita sendiri. Apakah kita mau melakukan hal kecil untuk sesuatu yang lebih besar?
